...about the importance of professional selling and bidding.
Over a thirty-year sales career in the technology industry, I worked my way from a rookie to a director. Along the way, I developed a taste for bidding - it plays to my strengths as a storyteller, an organiser and a timekeeper.
In 2012, I decided to start giving back everything I've learned to help you sell more - to commercial organisations and the public sector. And I've been busy ever since and loving every minute.
Some call me ruthless in my pursuit of professionalism. I'm not afraid to call a spade a spade. But those who work with me know I am actually rather patient and caring. And I laugh, a lot, a sense of humour makes work fun and keeps the motivation high even when the going gets tough.
My biggest love is words. Whenever I have a rare, spare minute, I devour hints and tips on style and grammar, structure and format. Over a decade ago, Lynne Truss's "Eats, shoots & leaves" reignited my indignation at sloppy writing. I continuously strive to perfect mine and people do tell me it's better than the average bear, or panda.
After doing my day job – fixing processes, managing bids, training, reviewing, writing and editing sales documents - I often present for the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), complete with carefully selected frock for each occasion. And I write articles for professional sales and bid publications to champion my trade.
